As you know, mathematics has become part of the core curriculum in all developed countries and Mathematics education has been established as an independent field of research. Though teaching and learning mathematics often cause problems to students and educators alike, extensive and meaningful discussions on the relevant areas of the pedagogy of mathematics at various levels are not often held in our state in all its seriousness. Today, so far as mathematics education is concerned, students are either in or out. It, by and large, lacks an inclusive outlook on the need of non-math students.
The Mathematics Department of our college is trying to contribute its little bit to tackle this issue by bringing this important topic to the attention of the academe in Kerala. The Seminar will, hopefully, be an enlightening one with a few eminent resource persons whose contribution to the subject and whose effort to spread the concepts and ideas in math education have been worthwhile, sharing their wisdom and experience with us.
We invite you and request you to make the occasion an electrifying one by your active participation and intellectual contribution.

There is no registration fee for the teacher/research scholar participants from government / aided/ unaided/ colleges and institutions.
Teacher participants will be eligible for duty leave for participating in the seminar as per G.O.(Rt)No. 969/09/H.Edn. dated 01/07/2008 from Higher Education(F) Department, Government of Kerala.
The seminar will be held at the Seminar hall of the BJM Govt. College, Chavara, Kollam (Dist). It is situated on the eastern side of the NH 47 at Sankaramangalam, Chavara. The nearest railway stations are Karunagappally and Kollam. The college is 14 KMs away from Kollam and 7 KMs from Karunagappally. There are frequent bus services from Karunagappally and Kollam.
All kinds of public transport buses including Super Fast/Fast Passenger services do stop at the Sankaramangalam bus stop. The college is at a distance of hardly 100 metres from this bus stop.
